For Parents
Extended School Program
The Extended School Program is provided for families having children
enrolled at Guardian Angels Catholic School. The program is fully licensed by the
State of
Michigan,
however, enrollment is limited. The children are supervised by a
caring and loving staff in a stimulating environment. The program is
conducted on full days when school is in session. It presently runs in
the morning from
6:45
until school starts and at the end of the school day to
6:00 PM
. The children are involved in structured activities including time for
homework, outdoor play, and snacks. The fee for this program is charged
by the hour for services contracted, and is payable on a monthly payment
plan. The fee schedule is reasonable and competitive.
Parent Involvement
Partnership with parents is key to Guardian Angels'
mission. Parents are invited to join teachers for a weekly, morning
prayer as well as the weekly all school Mass. They are encouraged to
assist in the classrooms and several organizations exist for them to
participate in. These organizations are open to all family members who
wish to be actively involved in the many events and functions of the
school.
SCHOOL COMMITTEE - The School Committee
offers both guidance and advice to the principal of the school. This
committee helps to set the policies that the principal is responsible
for implementing. The sub-committees include finance, technology,
marketing, and curriculum. For current information you may view
the School
Committee Page via the internet.
ATHLETIC COMMITTEE - The Athletic Committee sponsors
athletic programs under the auspices of the Catholic Youth Organization
(CYO). Through the committee's sponsorship and fundraising, athletics
are offered to the children of the parish and the school. Check
out the current Sports
Schedule via the internet.
GUARDIAN ANGELS PARENTS (GAP) - All school parents are
members of GAP. GAP is a service and fundraising group that assists the
school in its many student events, and provides special programs for the
students and their families. Their fundraising supplements the school
budget to help keep tuition down for everyone. Adult-oriented events
such as road rallies, parties, pot lucks, sporting events, and outings
are also provided enabling parents to get to know one another better. Be
sure to check out the GAP
web page via the internet.
